Fulbright Commission English Teaching Program

Welcome to the finest English Teaching Program in Ecuador!

The Fulbright English Teaching Program is part of the Fulbright Commission in Ecuador, a non-profit binational agreement between the governments of the United States and the Republic of Ecuador to oversee the Fulbright Program and other cultural and educational activities contributing to the mission of mutual understanding between the people of the United States and the people of Ecuador.

The Fulbright English Teaching Program (ETP) has been designed to help adults with mid-level proficiency in English to develop skills in speaking, reading and writing with proficiency near to that of a native speaker upon completing all levels of the English Teaching Program.

This level of sufficiency will allow students to successfully take entrance exams required by universities in the U.S. Those not pursuing academic degrees will realize higher professional goals with the appropriate English language skills needed for today's global world.

To enter the ETP, all students are required to take a Placement Exam.

STUDENTS

Currently, ETP students, who adhere to an honor code, are young and mid professionals, university students and university faculty, 18 years old and above, from Ecuador and other South American countries, in fields as varied as computer science, geography, biology, agriculture, marketing and political science. Approximately 30% of the students who have completed the program have applied to graduate and other programs in the U.S. and abroad.
